Thursday Doors; May the Force be with you

I bring you a last minute Thursday Doors on Saturday morning, a rare thing for me.

While out on my early morning walk today with my dog, we came upon this freshly painted garage door. I had to share it with you.

21/Fifty-Two, What if?

What if reality was slightly different from what it seems? What if everything we see and experience was just a little off? Would the world be a better place?

As a young kid I use to lay awake at night in bed wondering:  “What if all I think, feel and experience wasn’t real? What if I would wake up to a different world? Would I be a different me? Would I have a different family, friends ? Would I be alone? Would there be war, chaos or peace? And what if all my frames of references did not exist in this other world? What if I wasn’t human? Or if humanity was totally different from what we (I) know? What if reality was really sleep and dream time? And reality really a state of sleep?”

Growing up I did have a loving and caring family (I still do),  I was pretty happy with my life but instinctively, at a very young age, I understood the  fragility of it all.  All these ideas, questions and much more would churn vividly in my head while in the dark I would wait for Morpheus to take me to a world of wonders. I felt as though I could not know for certain that my reality was the same or similar to someone else’, even someone close to me. What if people perceived life totally differently? What if someone I knew and loved did not have me in their reality? I eventually moved on from this whirlwind of questions and focused on other perceptions, like the taste of food, odors and colors.  Do we all see, feel, and taste them the same?

The years have taught me that perceptions do somewhat differ from one person to another and that life is as real as you want it to be.

If you could create a new and different world, what would your world be like?

Thursday Doors: Art Du Commun

Actually bad graffiti is not that uncommon, but if you like murals and street art Montreal will not disappoint you. What we have here, is pretty remarkable. In 2013 Montreal hosted its first festival of public art:  Mural. It was a big success and has been back every summer since. This year it will be held form June 9-19th.

If you look-up www.artducommun.com you will come to the conclusion that they are not responsible for the bad graffiti on their back door.  Artducommun is a collective of professional artists that specializes in murals.

This post is part of the Thursday Doors Challenge, hosted by Norm 2.0.
