No it’s not true. You cannot take photos of the Emiratis without their consent and you cannot take photos of any official government buildings but otherwise no problem. I was actually in Dubai for a street photography workshop.
A little over 9.2 million people live in the UAE and only 1.4 Emiratis, it leave you plenty of expats to photograph, beautiful beaches, breath taking sand dunes and desert, stunning architecture… Trust me there is plenty to photograph in Dubai, I came back with many, many photos.
I read in a tourist book that we can’t take pictures in Dubaï… Is it real ? Can I practice Street photography … ? 🙂
