184/365 – Insects

They are among the most diverse groups of animals on the planet, including more than a million described species and representing more than half of all known living organisms.[2][3] The number of extant species is estimated at between six and ten million,[2][4][5] and potentially represent over 90% of the differing animal life forms on Earth.[6]

183/365 – Through the back door

Moving is exhausting and overwhelming. I have been so busy and preoccupied by it all in the last 8 days that Thursday went by unnoticed and I forgot to post my “Thursday Doors” photo. Thankfully Norm 2.0 gives participant until Saturday to do so.

So here is my Thursday Door on a Friday. Seen in an NDG alley.

Purple rain, purple rain

178/365 – Random Objects

We are in the midst of a big move. Our house of 19 years, where our kids grew up, where many memories and good times were had is being sold tomorrow. We have been preparing for this day for a long time and we are ready. In 2012, we officially moved to Montreal, QC but we kept our NY house as a country house. We honestly enjoyed it as much and as often as possible. But now, we have chosen to move and spend our weekends doing other things. We know we will miss this amazing place but we are truly grateful it was ours for all these years. I hope the new owners will love it as much as we did.

Needless to say, I have very little time for photography these days. So today, I just chose to photograph some random objects found while cleaning up the place.

177/365 – Rolling bi-plane blur

This was shot with my iPhone 6. I have the application Cortex Camera which is meant to reduce noise considerably, if your subject can hold still for 2-10 second. I use Cortex Camera to create blur. I love blur. The 2-10 seconds exposure creates some very interesting blur of moving objects.

Here we are driving on the Mercier Bridge, leaving the city. I just thought it might be an interesting place to try the Cortex Camera application (do not fear, I was not the driver). I must say, I really like the effect.

Here I have three shots, three in color and two in black and white.

As I said before, ma favorite macro subject.

175/365 – The Doors

I take a lot of pleasure in “hunting” doors to participate in Norm’s Thursday Doors Challenge.

One early morning last week while walking my dog, I decided to walk through an alley I had never seen before. I did get a couple of interesting doors and these ones I am sharing with you today. Montreal’s alleys show a different side of city life; I love discovering them.
